Brian Howlett

President & Chief Executive Officer, Director


Mr. Howlett is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of senior management experience. Mr. Howlett is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Dundee Sustainable Technologies Inc and remains on the Board.  He previously served as the President and Chief Financial Officer of Superior Copper Corporation. Prior to that, Mr. Howlett spent 12 years with ELI Eco Logic Inc., including 6 years as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Howlett graduated in 1982 with a B. Comm. in finance from Concordia University and received his CMA designation in 1989. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nighthawk Gold Corp.

Fraser Laschinger

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Laschinger graduated with an Honours in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in 2006. Mr. Laschinger joined Hemlo Explorers in 2011 as Manager of Corporate Development and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2013. Mr. Laschinger was a co-founder of Mineral Streams Inc., a private mineral royalty company that was sold to AuRico Metals Inc. in 2015. Before joining Hemlo Explorers, Mr. Laschinger worked in equity research for a Canadian investment dealer and for a private resource company as Director of Corporate Development, where he oversaw corporate finance initiatives and led the due diligence on a number of potential acquisitions.

Dr. Lesley Rose, M.Sc., Ph.D., P.Geo.

Senior Geologist

Dr. Rose has spent over 10 years working on a variety of projects focused on gold exploration in northwestern Ontario. Most recently she was a Mine Geologist at Barrick Gold Corporation’s Hemlo Gold Mine in Marathon, Ontario. Before that she was Chief Geoscientist at Fladgate Exploration Consulting Corporation and ICP-MS Supervisor at Activation Laboratories in Thunder Bay. She has been involved in academic endeavors, first as a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at the Bavarian Research Institute of Experimental Geochemistry and Geophysics at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, as well as teaching university geology courses and publishing peer-reviewed journal articles on her research.  

Aman Ullah, M.Sc.

Project Manager

Mr. Ullah is a well-rounded, skilled, committed, and self-motivated geologist. Knowledgeable in mineral exploration, project management, and data analytics, he has worked on various minerals and petroleum exploration projects for over five years. He graduated with a master’s degree in Geology from the University of Regina, SK and an undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences from Comsats University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Mr. Ullah joined Hemlo Explorers in February 2021 and was quickly promoted to a Project Geologist and later to a Project Manager position with the company. Before that, he worked as an exploration geologist for Alamos Gold at the Young Davidson Mine. Mr. Ullah has also worked as a database and exploration geologist in the petroleum industry. Before moving to Canada in 2014, he worked as an exploration geologist in Pakistan.

Dan McCormack, P.Geo.

Advisor

Mr. McCormack has spent over 30 years in grassroots and advanced mineral exploration and mine production, including serving as an officer and director of a number of companies. He was a Director and Vice President of Vault Minerals Inc., and was a consultant to Queenston Mining Inc. that was sold to Osisko Mining Ltd. in 2012. Mr. McCormack more recently held positions with Osisko Mining Ltd., and then was General Superintendent of Exploration for Yamana Gold Inc. and Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. at Canadian Malartic Corporation’s Kirkland and Malartic properties in Ontario and Quebec during the advancement of the Upper Beaver deposit.
